[REVIEW] Chinese Movie: The Game Changer

Name:
The Game Changer
Chinese Name: 游戏规则
Duration:  2hr. 6min.
Aired: Feb 10, 2017
Genre: Action, Friendship, Thriller, Historical, Romance, Crime, Drama

Sypnosis:
This story is about the two brothers Lin Zihao and Fang Jie. Tang Qianqian, who is the daughter of Mr.Tang and Fang Jie’s crush for a long time, falls in love with Lin Zihao.

In the meantime, Lin Zihao finds out that his lover, Lan Ruoyun, is captured by Mr. Tang. Mr.Tang is longing to dominate Shanghai, and sets up a plan, which includes Lin Zihao as the most important part of his plan.

Lin Zihao, however, is actually a member of the Blue Shirts Society, which Mr.Tang does not know.

Review by Astrid:
If you take a look at the cast, you may recognize some people. Probably more than me, but the reason I watched this was to witness Z.Tao’s acting. This was also the first Chinese movie that I watched.
Now onto the review – the whole story was incredibly weird and super hard for me to follow. A lot happened in a short amount of time. I did like the cast. Their acting really satisfied me, but sometimes it was hard to tell how satisfied I was, because I couldn’t really hang on to the storyline.

Overall:
The cast was amazing, but the events went way too fast, in a very confusing order. If you watch movies just for the cast their acting, I recommend this. Otherwise I recommend watching this movie two times or more.
